Kennedy Middle School Community Service Project - The Giving Tree

  • November 28, 2010

For the third year in a row, students at the Kennedy Middle School are taking part in a community service project with the Giving Tree. The program is a way for students to help fulfill the holiday wish of children in the community who are not as fortunate.

Through Dec. 8 residents can visit the Kennedy Middle School and select a name from the Giving Tree to fulfill a holiday wish. All unwrapped gifts must be returned by Dec. 10.

Principals from the five elementary schools in town provide Kennedy with a list of students and their holiday wishes, so those who may not be able to afford holiday gifts for their children, will have presents for the holidays.

Last year the program provided 208 students with personalized gifts. This year the program hopes to provide more than 250 students with gifts.
