Murray Lee Bannister, a resident of Woburn for over 60
years, died August 5, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 88 years of age.
Murray was born on September 15, 1923 in Elgin, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Zelotus and Laura (Steeves) Bannister. He was a retired carpenter for Charles B. Wills Construction in Lynnfield. He will be remembered as having a reputation as a perfectionist. Murray was also a long time member of the Open Bible Church in Burlington. Family was first and foremost in his life.
He was the Husband of Rita M. (Pool) Bannister; father of Kathy J. Murphy and her husband Marty of Manchester, NH; Douglas L. Bannister and his wife Ann of Nashua, NH; and the brother of King G. Bannister of New Brunswick, Canada. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 11:00 am at the Graham Funeral Home 3 Arlington Road (corner of Pleasant St.), Woburn. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am. Burial will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
