The North Suburban YMCA and Social Capital Inc. are happy to announce that through a special competition SCI has been awarded 9 new half-year AmeriCorps slots. The 9 new AmeriCorps members will serve from mid-January until the end of June 2012. SCI is recruiting members to begin this month.
The 9 AmeriCorps members will serve as either Outreach & Technology Coordinators or Youth Leadership Coordinators. As Outreach & Technology Coordinators, 6 members will serve to implement technology systems and traditional outreach efforts to recruit volunteers and to connect citizens with the information they need to participate in civic life.
One of the Outreach and Technology Coordinators will be stationed at the YMCA International Learning Center in Woburn. This person will be helping with outreach for Worldfest Woburn, setting up systems for a distance learning module, as well as assisting students gain technological skills and resources that will connect them with information in their daily lives.
