North Suburban YMCA reduces prices in the New Year
YMCA of Greater Boston makes healthy living more accessible
WOBURN | The YMCA of Greater Boston is giving residents another reason to commit to a New Year’s resolution to be healthy: fees at the North Suburban Y are decreasing for most memberships.
Fulfilling its commitment to make healthy living accessible to all, the YMCA of Greater Boston has reduced rates across all of its 13 branches, including the North Suburban Y, 137 Lexington St. Woburn.
Woburn teens ages 13 to 17 will see their rates plummet more than 65 percent to just $15 a month. In addition, memberships for young adults, adults, seniors and couples are also decreasing.
“The YMCA of Greater Boston is all about healthy living, social responsibility and youth development,” said CEO Kevin Washington. “To further that goal, we want to ensure that the Y is affordable for all members of the community, from children to young adults to families and seniors. Everyone can benefit from the services of their local Y and this will make it easier for all during this difficult economy.”
Young adult, adult and couple rates have been decreased, in some cases by more than $30 per month. The Y is also lowering family category rates at most branches. The young adult category has been extended through age 29 to make membership accessible to college students and young professionals. Young adults who are living at home and are 26 or younger can remain on their family’s Y membership plan. YMCA Financial Assistance will continue to be available for individuals and families in need.
A Y membership includes access to all fitness facilities, locker rooms, gymnasium, group exercise classes, swimming pool access and aquatic programs (where applicable), wellness and nutrition consultation, and discounted prices for special programs.
