North Suburban Y's International Learning Center Celebrates Students' Diversity

The North Suburban Y's International Learning Center hosted it's 3rd Annual International Festival last Thursday. Over 150 people attended the event, held at the Worburn Senior Center. "The aim of the event is so that our adult English language learners can practice English while highlighting their home countries. They've been practicing all year," explained Woburn Site Director Elaine Doherty. "The seniors enjoy the entertainment and share their own stories with our adult students." This year, attendees were treated to international food, song, dance, and even a soccer footwork demonstration. Students from Camaroon, India, Italy, Thailand, Brazil, China, Iran, and Yemen to name a few, were in attendance.
