William H. McLatchy, Jr., a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away in Chesterville, Maine on Saturday, December 29. He was 86 years of age.
Born in Medford, he was the son of the late William and the late Velma McLatchy. Willliam had lived in Woburn for most of his life before moving to Chesterville, Maine recently. Mr. McLatchy was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement, William worked for the Monsanto Chemical Company in Everett for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen R. (Sousa) Lancelotte McLatchy, and he was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Helen L. (Hodge) McLatchy who died in 1999. William is survived by three sons, Donald McLatchy, William McLatchy III, and John McLatchy; one daughter, Mickey McLatchy; and he was the step father of John Lancelotte, Dominic Lancelotte, Charlene Louzon, and Nancy Ames. He is also survived by one brother, Paul McLatch; three half brothers, Jeff, Scott, and Guy McLatchy; two step sisters, Holly, and Marcia McLatchy; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the North Congregational Church, 896 Main St., North Woburn on Saturday, January 12 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
