Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:
1) Event spotlight
Your kids get to see their teachers every day, but tonight, Linscott-Rumford School parents can see them too! The Linscott-Rumford teachers will be scooping ice cream for kids and parents tonight at the annual fall social. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. Click here for more info!
2) Neighborhood meeting tonight
Ward 6 Alderman Mike Raymond will be holding a neighborhood meeting tonight at the Thompson Library in North Woburn. Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda are several projects in the works in Woburn—a proposed Dave & Busters, CVS, St. Anthony's, the 40B Ledges project and more.
3) A 50% chance of a washout
According to the National Weather Service, there's no need for an umbrella today. Some patchy fog as we head to school, but it'll clear up before recess! Sunny skies are expected this afternoon, along with rising temperatures in the 60s. It'll get chilly after dark though, temps will drop to the 40s!
4) In case you missed it
We had a most awesome Photo of the Day yesterday, did you see it? If not, click here. And send your own photos to us at woburn@patch.com or 781-502-8325. We're always looking for submissions!
5) Headlines in history
Let's take a walk through Woburn's history, shall we? Some headlines in newspapers on Sept. 27 were: 1869—Heavy Damages Against Town; 1927—General Electric United Meets Tanners Tonight; 1939—Woburn Police Stand Guard At Locked Collector's Office; 1940—Woburn Girl Killed by Auto, Police Hold Burlington Woman.

AH MAN! As you can see the Linscott School that is in the area of all of those PROPOSED projects will be having an school event for their families, like myself will be attending...maybe they will see from the Thompson Library where the families CANNOT park already for the school. More traffic will make it a nightmare! If there are any other N. Woburn residents that can go tonight to represent PLEASE GO, I have to put my family first tonight at the school, but would love to say NO to all those projects?!
