Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:
1) City's travel basketball
Does your child want to take part in the city's travel basketball program? Several evaluation dates have been set for the program, which is offered to children in grades 4 through 8. The try-out dates are here (note: this will take you of of the Woburn Patch website).
2) Get In Shape For Women
The Woburn business, located at 400 West Cummings Park, is donating proceeds of its memberships to breast cancer support. For every new membership at Get In Shape For Women between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, the gym will donate $100 to the Tanner Ta-Ta's.
3) More rain?
According to the National Weather Service, we'll have more rain today. Expect rain showers and clouds, along with some fog, today and into the evening. The rain will continue tonight, probably stopping around midnight. Temperatures will be in the 60s, says the NWS.

- 1920—Widow is Slashed by Suitor, May Die—A 35-year-old East Boston woman was on the "danger list" at Woburn's Choate Memorial Hospital.
- 1952—State Joins in Probe of 5 Fatalities on Woburn Highway
- 1954—Royals Crush Woburn Team In Hockey Loop Game—Nashua Royals hockey team scored five goals in the last six minutes to win.
- 1962—St. Charles Church in Woburn To Mark Centennial
- 2001—West Nile Claims First Death In Mass.—A 70-year-old Woburn man is the first to die of complications from West Nile Virus.
