5T: Schools Closed, Rain Causing a Hazard and Public Meetings
Five things to know today.
Today is Feb. 11. Here are five things to know:
1) Rain
Looks like a messy day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect rain today with precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible. High temperature near 43 degrees.
2) Roof clearing
The rain mixed with all of the snow we have could cause some issues, especially with snow build-up on flat roofs. The rain will make the snow much heavier. Click here for tips on clearing your roof to avoid a collapse.
3) Schools closed
Woburn Public Schools are closed today as the city continues the snow clean-up effort.
4) Careful driving
Be careful on the roads today. Not all of the sidewalks in town have been plowed so people, including children, may be walking in the roadway. Also, there are high snow banks at intersections that make visibility difficult so be careful when pulling out into the road.
5) Public meetings
The Woburn Cemetery Commission is meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Woodbrook Cemetery Office. The Woburn City Council Subcommittees on Finance; Public Safety and Licenses; Special Permits and Personnel are meeting at 6 p.m. in Woburn City Hall, Council Chambers.
