5T: Today's Weather, Public Meetings and a Dinner and a Faith Discussion with Dinner

Five things to know today.

 

Today is Wednesday, March 13. Here are five things to know:

1) Mostly sunny

 Looks like a pretty nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 52 degrees. Windy with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour. A slight chance of showers after midnight tonight, otherwise mostly cloudy. Overnight low around 30 degrees.

 

2) Public meetings

The Historic District Commission is meeting at 6 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall, Engineers Conference Room. The Woburn City Council Subcommittees is meeting at 6 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall Council Chambers. The Woburn School Committee Personnel Subcommittee is meeting at 3 p.m. in the Joyce Middle School Conference Room.

 

3) Faith in China Discussion and Dinner

The First Baptist Church in Woburn is holding a "Lenten Soup Supper & Faith in A New China Presentation" at 5:30 p.m. this evening. Becke Drake, seminarian at Andover Newton Theological School, recently returned from a trip to China that focused on the Christian Church in China and its recent exponential growth. Becke invites the Woburn community to "travel" with her to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing as she shares her reflections through photos, music and words.

 

4) Cooking Demonstration

The Woburn Senior Center is holding a cooking demonstration at 10:30 a.m. this morning. The event is free.

 

5) What's cooking Wednesday

Whole Foods Markets is holding a "What's Cooking Wednesday" event starting at 5 p.m. today. Cruise the aisles and check out food and cooking demonstrations in each department and taste free samples.
