Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:

1) Family nurturing program

The North Suburban YMCA is hosting a family nurturing program for 12 weeks in the spring. The program starts Feb. 6 and will run until April 24 at three different times. 2) Name That Tune!

The Woburn Senior Center is hosting a "brain health event" as part of its ongoing senior issues lecture series. The event will focus on music and brain health. The series is funded by a Northwest Suburban Health Alliance/CHNA 15 DoN grant from Lahey Clinic. 

3) Rainy start

According to the National Weather Service's pinpointed forecast for Woburn, it's going to a be a rainy morning. Expect showers this morning, but tapering off and leading to sunshine later. Temperatures will range from 50s to 40s.

5) Headlines in history

Let's take a walk through Woburn's history, shall we? Some headlines in newspapers regarding Dec. 5 events in Woburn were:

• 1901—Woburn Experiences A Most Disastrous Fire—A devastating fire damages Thompson Building, businesses and social/fraternal clubs at Everett and Main street corner. 
• 1913—Woman Held Up in Woburn—One man covered the woman's mouth while another grabbed her purse. Woman was reportedly "made hysterical" by the incident.
• 1914—Much Doubt in Woburn—Over the mayoral race in "Leather City."
