Police: Suspect was armed and wearing a mask.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Main Street convenience store this morning.

According to Det. Ralph Coakley of Woburn Police, the DB Mart at 221 Main Street, near Green Street, was robbed late Friday night by a suspect carrying a handgun. The 911 call came into police around 11 p.m.

The suspect was wearing a mask and showed a handgun to the store clerk, demanding that the employee empty the cash drawer, said Det. Coakley. After taking an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.

Both Woburn Police and the Massachusetts State Police searched the area for the suspect, with negative results.

According to scanner reports, the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a red T-shirt, black pants and a mask.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Woburn Police at 781-933-1212 and dial zero to ask for Det. Coakley.
