Crowne Plaza Transformation Complete
The Holiday Inn is no longer.
"Our building's exterior is 90-percent done and 114 of 197 guest rooms are finished,” said general manager Frank Vento. “This is a completely different hotel now.”
According to Vento, the rooms now have "luxury baths and boutique-style décor including padded headboards, plush mattresses and bedding, state-of-the-art work centers and high definition 42” LCD televisions."
Vento said that he has heard positive reviews from customers and guests.
"They compliment the contemporary design, the comfort of the beds, and the amenities that focus on multitasking travelers,” he said.
The Middlesex Canal Park hotel is owned by David Masse, the CEO of Woburn-based Compass Reality Associates and Managing Partner of Panther Properties. The Crowne Plaza Boston-Woburn is part of global Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts chain operated by Intercontinental Hotels Group.
According to Vento, the hotel now features an indoor pool and fitness center, renovated meeting space, and a revamped Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill. The fourth floor of the hotel is set aside for "VIP guests" with a concierge and multi-media lounge, as well as complimentary breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres.
Grace Pigott of Analog Devices said she has used the hotel and is pleased with the transformation.
"There’s lots of A-plusses about this Crowne Plaza,” she said.
