Case has been turned over to the Middlesex District Attorney's office following death of Allen Fisher.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office is "actively" investigating the pedestrian accident that killed 31-year-old Allen Fisher of Woburn.
According to Stephanie Guyotte of the DA's office, no charges have yet been filed against the elderly driver that struck Fisher.
"But this is an active investigation," she told Woburn Patch at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Woburn Police and State Police investigators responded to the pedestrian accident Oct. 9 around 8 p.m. after an 88-year-old Winchester man struck Fisher, who was crossing the street after leaving Pop Warner football practice.
The 31-year-old father of two was struck by the car and thrown into oncoming traffic further down the road, according to Woburn Police. He was transported to Mass General Hospital where he endured several surgeries before lapsing into a coma. The Arlington Road resident died of his injuries Monday.

So, so sad. My condolences to Mr. Fisher's family and friends :(
Let this tragic accident be a reminder to all of us....drivers and pedestrians...to be vigilant when on the roads.

I was crying over this watching it on news this morning! We have to do SOMETHING about these elderly drivers. How many folks have been killed due to elderly drivers that probably shouldn't even have a driver's license!!! LOTS AND LOTS. this is getting ridiculous. My friend's father has dimentia and is 88 and the REGISTRY JUST RENEWED HIS LICENSE FOR FIVE MORE YEARS. GIVE ME A BREAK!

Please everyone SLOW DOWN when driving on residential streets, and please don't talk on your damn cellphones while driving, and stop TEXTING WHILE DRIVING AS WELL. A distracted driver is a very dangerous driver. And one last comment, please stop slamming the old gentleman that was driving the car, I'm sure he did not mean to hit Mr.Fisher, accidents happen. Thoughts and prayers go out to both families. There should also be some better lighting near that field. Can't see a thing there at night.
