Why go: Baby Songs is back and better than ever! The very popular program for infants and toddlers (ages newborn to 3-years-old) features the music of James Lepler.

2. Stand-Up Comedy Night

Where/when: Crestview; Friday, April 1 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. 

Why go: You love to laugh. Is there a need for any other reason?

3. Stoneham Theatre's 2011 "Lights Up!" Auction

Where/when: Hilton Boston-Woburn; Friday, April 1 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. 

Why go: Help support a neighboring community's popular theater with this champagne reception and silent auction. Tons of auction items are available, including an "ultimate Red Sox experience," a Cabaret dinner with Kathy St. George, a Hilton Head Vacation, a 7-night stay for four in a Tuscan Villa and more. The evening is emceed by radio personality Hank Morse.

4. Presentation: Political Changes in the Middle East

Where/when: Woburn Public Library; Sunday, April 3, 2 p.m. 

Why go: You are interested in the new politics of the Middle East and would like to hear this presentation by Dr. Shaheen Mozaffar, Professor of Political Science at Bridgewater State University.

5. Open House at Camp Rice Moody

Where/when: 29 Rice Rd, Reading; Sunday, April 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. 

Why go: Your daughter is interested in this nearby Girl Scout camp and wants to learn more about it. Explore the camp's programs and options during this open house event.
