Five Things You Need To Know Today, Aug. 13

So what if it's summer? Let's play hockey!

Here are five things you need to know today:

1) The rain is behind us

Looks like the weekend rain is behind us, as we start our week today. According to the National Weather Service, Woburn will be sunny with temperatures as high as 87 degrees. Our record highs and lows for Aug. 13—93 degrees in 1988 and 47 degrees in 1968.

2) Hockey!

The Colleen Sanborn Hockey School starts tonight for a full week of skills, strength and conditioning at the Ned O'Brien Rink. The camp is designed for middle school girls who want to get to the next level. Keep checking in with the terrific Woburn Youth Hockey website to keep up with camps, workshops and WYH news.

3) Event spotlight

Whole Foods has opened a new juice bar inside the Cambridge Road grocery store. Meg, the healthy eating specialist for Whole Foods, will host several information sessions this week. Tonight is "Nutrition in Juicing." Session begins at 6 p.m.

4) In case you missed it

Our Week In Review looks at the top police news from the previous week. Were you away last week? Or did you just miss a police log? Catch up with Five Police Incidents That Had People Talking!

5) No shoes, no shirt... No dice!

On this day in 1982, the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High premiered. The movie, written by Cameron Crowe, told the story of several teens in high school. Although many memorable characters came out of the movie, the cult favorite has to be Sean Penn's Spicoli. Nicolas Cage and Forest Whitaker were also in the movie, but in small roles, along with Judge Reinhold and Eric Stoltz.
