Hurld School family skate night is tonight.
Here are five things you need to know today:
1) Early snow possible: We may see some early morning snow, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS is forecasting a slight chance of snow showers before 9 a.m. and clouds for the rest of the day. Expect temperatures to be in the 40s and wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
2) Event spotlight: The Ned O’Brien ice rink will host family skate night tonight at 6:10 p.m. for Hurld School families. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the Council of Social Concern.
3) Weekend event spotlight: The Elks annual “Hoop Shoot” will take place this weekend. The fun begins at 11 a.m. at Woburn Memorial High School.
4) In case you missed it: The MBTA announced two proposals for changes to service in Woburn and other communities this week. Yesterday, we outlined how those changes will affect those of you who take the bus and commuter rail in Woburn. Click here to read the story!
5) The power of love is a curious thing: On this day in 1925, auto executive John DeLorean was born. He may have only made one car with the DeLorean Motor Company, but it was a winner of a vehicle. The DeLorean, a sports car with wing doors that opened upward, was produced in the early 1980s. It was made famous when it was used as the time machine in the movie Back to the Future (1985). But, DeLorean himself did not fare so well. He was tried for drug trafficking in 1984, and was eventually acquitted of all charges.
