2) Fun With Google!
You know what's fun? Google. We put the search terms "July 16" and "Woburn" in and came up with a few hits. Including a family's genealogy site where one of the ancestors—Samuel Russell—was born on July 16, 1692 in Woburn!
3) Event Spotlight
Karaoke returns again tonight at Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill at 15 Middlesex Canal Park Drive at 8 p.m. The karaoke machine has a huge amount of songs—over 5,000! You're certain to find your favorite.
4) In Case You Missed It
A Department of Public Works employee was injured on Friday at the water treatment plant near Horn Pond. Find out what happened by reading our story here.
5) Testing the Atomic Bomb
On this day in 1945, the United States conducted a test detonation of the atomic bomb in the desert of New Mexico at the Trinity bomb site. The development of the atomic bomb began in August of 1942 as part of the Manhattan Project. In 1945, the U.S. bombed the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki marking the first and only time an atomic weapon has been used in a war.
