Five Things You Need To Know Today, July 26
What happened to St. Charles Church on July 26 nine years ago?
Here are five things you need to know today:
1) We love you, Mother Nature
Well, Mother Nature sure has been good to us. And we just want her to know that we love her! According to the National Weather Service, we will enjoy sunny skies and a high of temperature of 84 degrees.
2) St. Charles rocked by arson
It was nine years ago today that the St. Charles Parish was devastated when an arson fire was set in the Main Street church. It was the second arson fire within a year at the church, which left parishioners shocked and confused. The July 26 fire started when someone set a drop cloth aflame after stuffing it inside a piano.
3) Event Spotlight
Do you like your food in miniature? Who doesn't! Head on over to Masa Southwest Bar and Grill in the Horn Pond Plaza. They have 50-cent tapas all night on Thursdays this summer!
4) Send us your photos!
As you know, every day, we run a special "Photo of the Day" at 10 a.m. All of these photos are sent in by our readers and represent a wide variety of life that is found in Woburn. We are running low on submissions, but we know there are photos out there! Send us your pictures—vacations, pool parties, barbecues, puppies, cats, kids, babies... you name it, we want to see it! You can text them to us at 781-502-8325 or email us at woburn@patch.com. Make sure to include a brief description for your photo! Thank you in advance!
5) You can't always get what you want...
But sometimes, you get what you need. Right? On this day in 1943, musician Mick Jagger was born. Best known as the frontman of the Rolling Stones, Jagger has also acted and studied economics. Rocking since the 1960s, Jagger and the Stones are still going strong today. What's your favorite Stones song? We might have to go with Gimme Shelter.
