Five Things You Need To Know Today, July 27
The 10th annual Native American Pow Wow is this weekend.
Here are five things you need to know today:
1) Chance of t-storms
Looks like we could get some more storms today. According to the National Weather Service, we can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms with the chance some storms could be severe with gusty winds and heavy rains. Otherwise cloudy with a high near 83 degrees. Chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight and a low around 65.
2) Folk music revival
Local musician Donna Nagle is volunteering her time Friday mornings to teach residents about folk music at the Senior Center. The event began as guitar lessons, but has changed to a folk music celebration. Stop by and sing or join in with an instrument. Music begins at 10 a.m.
3) Event Spotlight
In its 10th year, the Native American Pow Wow is a grand representation of Woburn cultural history. Sponsored by the Woburn Residents' Environmental Network, the Pow Wow will feature food, crafts and arts. There will be a "grand entrance" at noon on Saturday at the Altavesta School. The Pow Wow is Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
4) How to keep up with Woburn Patch

5) What's up Doc?
On this day in 1940, Warner Brothers' most famous character, Bugs Bunny, was "born" in a warren under Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, according to the book Bugs Bunny: 50 Years and Only One Grey Hare. In reality Bugs was created by the staff a "A Wild Hare," Bug's debut role on television. Since then, the "wascally wabbit," with his trickster ways, flip personality and pronounced New York accent has been in hundreds of cartoon spots as well as movies and was an anchor character on Looney Toons.
