Five Things You Need To Know Today, Sept. 19
N. Woburn project back on Board of Appeals agenda.
Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:
1) Event spotlight
Woburn Board of Appeals will meet tonight at City Hall at 7 p.m. On the agenda is the 40B project in North Woburn, as well as a petition by The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company for a variance on Linscott Road.
2) Free workout
Looking to join the Boston Sports Club? Today is "Free Guest Day" all day! Non-members are welcome to a free workout to see what the BSC is all about. Click here for more information.
3) More rain and wind
According to the National Weather Service, we will likely see more rain today with a chance of thunderstorms. Like yesterday, we'll have a lot of wind too. Expect wind gusts to reach as high as 23 miles per hour. It'll be a little cooler than it has been, as temperatures dip to the mid-60s.
4) In case you missed it
Yesterday was Pop Warner Tuesday at Woburn Patch. We love youth sports here at Patch and would love to publish game recaps and photos from all sports. But we need your help! If you are a coach or a parent and want to submit game recaps to Patch, just e-mail us at woburn@patch.com. Photos are always needed, too!
5) You're going to make it after all
On this day in 1970, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" premiered on CBS. The show, featuring Mary Tyler Moore as an independent woman making a career at a local television news station, was one of the earliest examples on television of such a strong female lead character. The show was created by James L. Brooks and Allan Burns and ran until 1977 and had 168 total episodes. The show has received high praise, including 29 Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes and a Peabody.
