How Many Parking Tickets Were Issued in Woburn Last Year?

A look at how many parking tickets were issued, and how many of those were paid, during 2012.

 

Have you ever gotten a parking ticket and thought "Why me?"?

Well, you are not alone. According to a monthly report to the Woburn City Council by Charles L. O’Connor, Parking Clerk for the Woburn Police Department, a total of 975 parking tickets were given out in 2012. 

The number of violations paid was 497, leaving 414 outstanding. There also is a backlog of 5,838 tickets from 1982 to 2011 that have not been paid. From 1982 to the present a total of $36,876 has been submitted to the Office of the Collector and $6,250 in parking violation have been referred to the Handicapped Commission to date.

The meeting minutes on the City of Woburn web site have parking ticket reports from June through December. Here is a breakdown of the number of parking tickets issued each month:

  • June - 47
  • July - 52
  • August - 68
  • September - 140
  • October - 110
  • November - 40
  • December - 141
  • Monthly Average - 89

Parking fines may be paid in person at the Police Station, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or through the mail to:

If you have outstanding tickets, you are not allowed to renew your drivers license I thought. Or does this just apply to moving violations?

Not enough! I called them about people parking on my street during the paking ban and no one came.............the plows had to go around and the street was a mess for days.

I know by fact there's many people who still park they cars all nigth long on restricted areas, I see them every nights!

it is true that if you do not pay your parking tickets you will be non renewable until you pay up.
