Did they tell you about the big CVS drive through they want to put there...you should check that out and report on it..not all of the North Woburn is thrilled about it!!!!

I can't believe the City has allowed any business to paint the building this horrendous color. It looks so cheap. The City needs to step up and control what buildings look like in community.

I live in walking distance and was thrilled way back, when I heard that Mr Charlie's was planning to move across the way to where Dunkin Donuts had been all these years (as Dunks was moving to the other end of this same plaza creating a drive thru (yay). And that a CVS would be moving to where Mr Charlie's was located (again yay) ... so far it's all good in my book. - time will tell though (will see)

I heard what Jeana heard a CVS is going in where Mr. Charlies is. It would be nice to have the convience of a CVS there BUT what a mess of traffic it would cause more to N. Woburn. Especially to School Street Residents, its not fair to them. I thought Mr. Charlies right where it is , is great. School Street has enough traffic as it is!!

What are they going to do to increase parking? Several spaces were lost with the drive thru. Spaces on the side of the old Dunks and facing the Mobil. Nobody wants to park out back nor would I want to walk to the front, no safe pedestrian way. Could lead to more parking at St Anthonys and more pedestrians on Main St, hazardous at any time without all the continuous construction. CVS? Well, you know there will need to be a Walgreens right across the street, where will they put that?

Hopefully the current color is just a primer.

Mr Charlies moving is not a big issue but CVS is not needed in North Woburn, we have way too much traffic now. The condos spreading from the beginning of N Woburn to the Wilmington line where the new quarry will be run before building more condos is way too much traffic for the N Woburn residents and the roads to handle. Rte 38 will like a miniature Rte 28 in Stoneham only we only have 1 lane for each side. Where are all these people going to come from to live in these 40B developments certainly not from our own City

Residents have to start attending meetings to speak up against all this unwanted development. We are the taxpayers, voters who elect the officials who vote on these things it is our health, safety and rights that are going to be effected and not just for a short period of time. Please attend the next meeting at City Hall on Tuesday September 11th at 7PM regarding the Ledges before its too late. Write letters to the papers and your resprentatives. Bring a neighbor we need to work with our Alderman and let City Officials them know we do not want or need this in North Woburn, we need to stop this quarry and destruction of our lives known as the Ledges. Let the builder develop this in their own Community and disrupt their lives for 2 years of blasting and over 60 heavy trucks per day for the quarry processing. How can this quarry run for 2yr in a R2 zone it certainly is not zoned for this and doesnt belong here.

Mr. Charlie's current location is much more accessible to children playing at the park or the pool. It's a shame they're relocating across the North Main Street Speedway. It's like asking for a tragedy.

I agree that it would be a big scoop for Woburn Patch to get us some real information about the possibility of a CVS in north Woburn. I've read random tidbits about it but never seen anything official. I live about a quarter-mile from the location and, while not opposed to all progress and development, am far from convinced that it's a good fit for the area.

There is a CVS at the Woburn Mall and another downtown.Mr.Charlies looks way too small to accomodate a CVS.As for the ice cream shop relocating to 880 Main St I would think a pedestrian crossing light would work.Traffic is usually backed up southbound in the morning and northbound in the afternoon anyway.A pedestrian crossing would also make it easier for the elderly,or anyone for that matter, who may walk to St.Anthony's from the Elm St. side of Main St. Mitigation money could take care of that.

That building looks terrible. Yes, the city does have a say on what color or what size banners, etc.. you put on your business. Who does own that building? Oh yeah, I forgot. Nepotisim at it's best.

@Aaron B: I beg to differ.The New Boston St bridge should have been repaired 30 years ago but foot-dragging in the legislature by none other than Rep.Miceli was the cause for the project to become forgotten.He didn't want HIS constituents inconvenienced by Woburn traffic going up Woburn St.in Wilmington.However,when the Butters Row bridge and Lake St. bridge in Wilmington were wrecked by a freight train Rep.Miceli made sure that a Bailey bridge was in place in a matter of weeks until a permanent new bridge was put in place.Where there's a will,there's a way.Rep.Miceli got things done then and probably has enough sway now to get it done.He's been a stalwart for the people of Wilmington for over 30 years.

As a Linscott-Rumford parent, having a CVS that close to the school and all the EXTRA traffic will be a safety issue for the children during morning drop off and afternoon pickup...there is already NO PARKING for parents to drop or pick up their children?? Imagine the added traffic a CVS at the end of Main will bring past the school? Please let us know when they have to VOTE for a CVS and for that fact whatever building/quarry they are building near St. Anthony's...Parents of the Linscott need to know!

I attended a meeting at the Thompson Library a few weeks ago. They made it sound like this CVS will happen. We saw the plans. It will be open until midnight and have a drive through. The land where several houses and the transmission business and Mr Charlies will all be sold and torn down to accommodate the parking and drive through. Only the glass business is staying. We were told they won't sell to the developer. And yes the building looks like a clown house..it looks horrible.

I have been a resident of North Woburn for 47 years. Mr. Charlies is the best thing this side of town has ever seen. I think Mr. Charliie's new location will be perfect! Colors are cheerful. Reminds me of the old ice cream parlors. Does it matter which side of the street it's on? If you have children that are playing at the park or pool, hopefully your watching them and can cross them on the cross walk or teach them how to do it. I love Mr. Charlies. My kids love Mr. Charlies. It's so much fun to run into people you know when you head there. Let's remember that before Mr. Charlies was there, an empty building stood there and offered nothing. I give great praise to Mr. M for coming up with the idea of a "family" place to go. Relax people, life is short.

I love Mr. Charlie's too, Karen, Have you ever been around children? Do you know they're impulsive and excitable and, even with teaching or close observation, can still dart into streets faster than you can catch them or a driver can slam on his or her brakes? You're right, life is short. So short that it would be a horrific tragedy for a child's life to be shortened from crossing a State Highway for ice cream. That is an extremely busy road and people drive dangerously, as I've experienced personally while simply trying to turn left across the southbound lane into that parking lot to get a coffee from Dunkin's. It's a no-brainer that ice cream shops attract children as do playgrounds and swimming pools. Does it matter what side of the street it's on, you ask? Gosh, no more than any other traffic or public safetly issue. Does it matter if we have crossing guards near schools?

As for the empty building, there was a wonderful business called Peck's To Go in that space prior to Mr. Charlie. It disappeared too quickly.

People saying the CVS is not needed in N. Woburn... are you kidding me?! It's just the opposite.. BADLY needed! Who wants to drive all the way to Woburn Mall, fighting their way through all that congestion to go into that God awful, tiny, gross CVS? Might as well go to Target if you've gone that far already. Yes, the traffic is a royal pain in the a**, but in the long run it will be awesome to FINALLY have the convenience and a pharmacy right there.
