Lawrence Men Arrested at 'The Crack Shack'
Pair charged with several drug offenses in Woburn Wednesday.
Two Lawrence men with several aliases were arrested Wednesday on drug charges at a Woburn location dubbed "the Crack Shack."
Andre Huelta, real name Andres Huertas, 33, of 2 Paris St. Apt. #100 in Lawrence, MA 01840 and Raul Fostan Maldonado, 39, of 81 Sunset St. Apt. #1FL in Lawrence were arrested and charged with:
- one count of Distributing a Class A Drug (heroin);
- one count of Distributing a Class B Drug (cocaine);
- one count of Possession to Distribute a Class A Drug (heroin);
- one count of Possession to Distribute a Class B Drug (cocaine);
- one count of Drug Violation Near School/Park (Woburn Memorial High School);
- one count of Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.
The men were arrested Wednesday by members of the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force, including officers from the Woburn Police Department.
According to the police, an undercover officer purchased heroin and cocaine from the men. The pair then drove past WMHS on Montvale Avenue, while being followed by officers.
Police reported the men arrived at an Eastern Avenue home known as "the Crack Shack" by drug users and distributors. Huertas and Maldonado both attempted to run from officers, said police, but were taken into custody outside the home.
The drug task force reportedly found heroin and cocaine in the residence, as well as cash.
According to police, both men have alias names, dates of birth, birth places and addresses. During the investigation, police learned that both Huertas and Maldonado have "outstanding warrants on their respective aliases."
Police believe that Maldonado, also known as Jorge Rodriguez, has been deported to his native Dominican Republic twice and reported that the Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement submitted a detainer for Maldonado this week. Maldonado also has an outstanding warrant for drug charges under another name, said police.
Law enforcement officials also report that Huertas has default warrants for drug charges and motor vehicle violations. Police are also investigating another possible charge for Huertas (under an alias) for carjacking.
