Police reported the men arrived at an Eastern Avenue home known as "the Crack Shack" by drug users and distributors. Huertas and Maldonado both attempted to run from officers, said police, but were taken into custody outside the home.

The drug task force reportedly found heroin and cocaine in the residence, as well as cash.

According to police, both men have alias names, dates of birth, birth places and addresses. During the investigation, police learned that both Huertas and Maldonado have "outstanding warrants on their respective aliases."

Police believe that Maldonado, also known as Jorge Rodriguez, has been deported to his native Dominican Republic twice and reported that the Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement submitted a detainer for Maldonado this week. Maldonado also has an outstanding warrant for drug charges under another name, said police.

Law enforcement officials also report that Huertas has default warrants for drug charges and motor vehicle violations. Police are also investigating another possible charge for Huertas (under an alias) for carjacking.
