Main Street Construction Starts This Morning

Police advise motorists to seek alternate routes.

While road work continues on the West Side, North Woburn is set to also see some of its own road construction.

According to Woburn Police, Main Street road work by St. Anthony's will begin today and last approximately one to two weeks.

Work is planned for a new gas main in the area, but police are unsure how much of the road will be dug up.

However, WPD advises drivers to seek alternate routes and expect delays in North Woburn. Work is expected to be between Newbridge Avenue and St. Anthony's Church, 851 Main St. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily until the project is complete.

Police also anticipate more road work in the area of School and Merrimac streets later this month or in November.
