Man Killed in Route 128 Accident Monday

Mass State Police still investigating.

An East Boston man was killed Monday night after an accident on Route 128 North in Woburn.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, the man's 2002 Nissan Maxima was driving on the ramp to Washington Street (Exit 36) when his car "swerved, left the road and rolled over off of the ramp" Monday night just before 8 p.m.

State Troopers are still investigating what caused the man's car to leave the road.

Paul Salerno, 51, of East Boston, was ejected from the car during the rollover. After being transported by Woburn Fire Department to Massachusetts General Hospital, Salerno was pronounced dead.

"The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis Recon Section and the Crime Scene Services Section," said State Police spokesman Dave Procopio.

State Police, Woburn Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation all responded to the scene Monday night.
