Man Reports Attempted Armed Robbery in McDonald's Parking Lot
A Christmas morning meal is reportedly interrupted by a suspect with a handgun.
A Somerville man reported being held up at gunpoint early Christmas morning.
According to Woburn Police reports, the Somerville man reported pulling into the rear McDonald's parking lot on Montvale Avenue to eat food he had just purchased. After the man parked his car, he allegedly was approached by a man who "ordered him out of his vehicle."
According to the victim's statement, the suspect told him he was a police officer, but when asked for identification, he allegedly said he would show the victim a badge "when they were finished."
The victim told police the suspect was carrying a handgun.
According to police reports, the suspect ordered the victim out of the car and then asked the man to empty his pockets. Finding nothing in the man's pockets, the suspect then demanded the victim "get back into his vehicle and get out of there."
Police believe the suspect left the area by car, traveling on Route 93 South.
