Though the snow has mostly stopped, the prohibition on automotive travel is still in effect today until further notice.

In Woburn, Department of Public Works crews are working to clear the roads, starting with a focus on emergency access for public safety officials, a release from Mayor Scott Galvin States.

The mayor also asks residents to be patient and, while waiting for the ban to lift and the plows to finish their work, to check on elderly neighbors.

Full text from Galvin:

"As of 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.9, 2013, there is still a state of emergency ban that prohibits driving on any city or state street, except in cases of emergency.

Travel by unauthorized personnel is strictly prohibited.

Department of Public Works crews are focused on maintaining emergency access for public safety officials and emergency purposes. Clean up of secondary roads and other areas will continue. These conditions remain in effect until further notice.

People are also reminded to be considerate of neighbors in need, and check in on one another. And, as always, in cases of emergency, dial 911."
