Memorial Services Announced for Kristen Abreu
The 30-year-old paramedic will be laid to rest Thursday.
Kristen J. Abreu, 30, a paramedic with Cataldo Ambulance, was killed in a single-car crash on Mishawum Road July 22.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends are Wednesday, July 27 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home on Main Street.
A funeral will be held at St. Charles Church Thursday, July 28 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery.
Abreu was the daughter of Paul D. Abreu of Woburn and Maureen (Morgan) Callahan and her husband Dan of Bradford.
She is also survived by her siblings, Paul D. Abreu, Jr. and his wife Xanthe, and Cassandra Callahan, all of Bradford. She was the aunt of Evelyn Stone, four months, of Bradford.
Abreu lived in Woburn, Winchester and Bradford, attending Haverhill High School and graduating in 1998. She worked at Hillside Florist in North Woburn and later became a flight attendant for United Express and Air Tran.
At the time of her death, Abreu was working as a paramedic for Cataldo Ambulance Service, having previously worked for Action Ambulance and LifeLine Ambulance Service.
According to family and friends, Kristen "was known for her warm, outgoing personality and her generosity to family and friends. A natural leader in tough situations, she truly enjoyed her work as a paramedic, and had a great compassion and affinity for people."
Abreu is survived by her paternal grandparents, John and Hilda Abreu of Woburn, her maternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Morgan of Woburn and Mabel Callahan of Woburn, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is pre-deceased by her late maternal grandmother, Janice Morgan.
A roadside memorial was created for Abreu by family and friends.
