Memorial Services for John McElhiney Friday, Saturday

Calling hours are today, funeral on Saturday.

 

Calling hours for the late City Solicitor John McElhiney, who passed away Tuesday after battling cancer, will be held today at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home.

The wake will be held today from 1 to 4 p.m. and again 6 to 8 p.m.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass which will be held in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

McElhiney is survived by his wife, Sheila J. (Tracey) McElhiney, and son, Joseph L. McElhiney of Woburn. He was the son of Mary H. (Sullivan) McElhiney of Woburn and the late Ret. Chief Leo McElhiney, Woburn Police Department.

He is also survived by his brother, Dennis P. McElhiney and his wife Barbara of Woburn; in-laws Richard and Maureen McKinnon of Dorchester; and nieces and nephews, Dennis P. McElhiney and his wife Alexandra, Stacey Terry, Mary Katherine McKinnon and Richard McKinnon Jr.

McElhiney is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, a great nephew and two great nieces.

Donations may be made in John's memory to the Woburn Boys and Girls Club, Charles Gardner Lane, Woburn, MA 01801.
