UPDATED: OBITUARY: Kristen J. Abreu

Died from injuries in car crash Friday, July 22.

 

Kristen J. Abreu, 30, in Woburn, by accident, July 22nd.

Abreu was the daughter of Paul D. Abreu of Woburn and Maureen (Morgan) Callahan and her husband Dan of Bradford.

She is also survived by her siblings, Paul D. Abreu, Jr. and his wife Xanthe, and Cassandra Callahan, all of Bradford. She was the aunt of Evelyn Stone of Bradford.

Kristen was born in Winchester and lived in Woburn for the first few years of her life. She moved to Bradford as a young child and attended schools there, graduating from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1998. After high school she worked for Hillside Florist in North Woburn and attended school to become a flight attendant. She worked as a flight attendant for United Express and Air Tran for several years. 

More recently, Kristen was employed by Cataldo Ambulance Service, having become certified as a paramedic a few months ago. Previously she had worked for Action Ambulance and LifeLine Ambulance Service. 

According to family and friends, she "was known for her warm, outgoing personality and her generosity to family and friends. A natural leader in tough situations, she truly enjoyed her work as a paramedic, and had a great compassion and affinity for people." 

Abreu is survived by her paternal grandparents, John and Hilda Abreu of Woburn, her maternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Morgan of Woburn and Mabel Callahan of Woburn, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is pre-deceased by her late maternal grandmother, Janice Morgan.

Funeral arrangements by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., will be announced Tuesday.
