Officer Maguire Memorial Tournament In June

Sponsorships still available.

Since Woburn Police Officer Jack Maguire's death in the line of duty, his brothers at the police department have created a scholarship in his name.

The scholarship is awarded to a Woburn Memorial High School senior who plans to pursue a career in criminal justice.

This year, the Woburn Police are holding a golf tournament in Officer Maguire's name to raise money for the scholarship.

The tournament will be held on Monday, June 4 at the Hillview Country Club in North Reading. Sponsorships are still available, said Woburn Police Patrolman John Walsh, who is coordinating the event.

Sponsorships are $150. If interested, print out the form attached to this article and bring it to the Woburn Police station.

Other donations to the scholarship are also gratefully accepted.

Last year, six months after Officer Maguire's death, the department held a scholarship fundraiser at the Sea Dog restaurant in Woburn. Several thousand dollars were raised from the event.
