POLICE LOG: Fifty Shades of Grey, Water Stolen

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 14 – At 11:47 p.m., a Woburn woman reported her car broken into and several items stolen, including two cases of water, a copy of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” several other books and a bag of groceries.

May 14 –

At 12:07 p.m., a Woburn man was cited for failure to use care and caution while driving on Elm Street.

At 3:19 p.m., an officer spoke to two elementary-school-aged girls regarding an ongoing bullying situation. According to police, the girls said that two other girls routinely bullied them and have also been physical, scratching and hitting one of the girls. Police left messages for the school principal and the police student resource officers.

At 3:33 p.m., police were called to an Industrial Parkway business for a report of a bounced check. According to police, the business was dealing with a person who owed money for a business transaction. Police advised the business that it was a civil matter.

At 4:37 p.m., Brittany Jordan Hershey, 21, of 1 Felton Drive in Peabody, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (oxycodone) and conspiracy to violate the drug law. Michael Paul Smith, 21, of 4 Violet Road in Peabody, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (oxycodone) and conspiracy to violate the drug law. According to police, the Peabody couple was arrested as part of a Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force investigation.

At 6:45 p.m., police responded to Convenient 38 on Main Street for a report of a car into a building. According to police, the 78-year-old driver told officers he parked his car and exited it, when he noticed the car was still moving. The car struck the building before the man could jump back into the car and apply the emergency brake. There were no reported injuries. The owner of the business was notified and responded to the store.

At 7:55 p.m., a Woburn woman reported a broken rear door at her apartment.

At 10:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen cell phone inside the Stop & Shop store on Elm Street. According to police, an employee was working in the frozen food aisle when he left his cell phone on a rack. The employee returned to the freezer a short time later and found the phone was gone.
