POLICE LOG: Gas Tank Filled With Laundry Soap

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Nov. 27 – At 11:48 a.m., police responded to Orange Street for a report of vandalism. According to police, a man’s car was tampered with, and a suspect poured laundry soap into the gas tank and oil container.

At 9:01 a.m., a Waltham contractor reported that over $5,000 in rail kits were stolen from a storage container on the Westgate apartment complex site on Pearl Street.

At 9:16 a.m., a Winn Street business reported two company cars’ tires had been slashed overnight.

At 5:22 p.m., a Woburn woman reported being scammed by a website called Cashadvance.com. According to police, the woman attempted to obtain a loan from the company. She told police she sent $115 to a Kentucky Western Union as a processing fee for the loan. When the woman attempted to pick up her loan from the Woburn Western Union location, she was told it was not valid. Western Union’s fraud department has been notified, said police.

At 5:48 p.m., police were called to a two-car accident on Lexington Street. According to police, the two vehicles collided when one exited the access road without looking. There were no reported injuries.
