POLICE LOG: Man Caught 'Peeking' Above Hedges

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Aug. 20 – At 1:47 p.m., a police officer observed a man pacing near hedges and then “peeking” above the hedges as the cruiser drove by on Mountain Street. The officer stopped to speak to the man, who said he was waiting for his brother because they were going to go running. The officer was patrolling the area because of recent house-breaks and began looking around to see if anyone else was in the area. Police found a tire iron near a home and confiscated it.
Aug. 20 –
At 8:53 a.m., a Wade Avenue resident reported his girlfriend’s car was broken into overnight. According to police, a GPS unit was taken, as well as an inverter for the cigarette lighter.
At 10:04 a.m., a Fresh City employee reported a breaking and entering. According to police, a suspect entered the safe and stole several hundred dollars in cash and a bag of keys. Police said an employee reported hearing a noise during closing, but thought it may have just been an ordinary sound. Police are obtaining video surveillance footage from the night of the break-in.
At 4:30 p.m., a Woburn woman reported receiving a harassing voice mail message. Police listened to the message and found it was of a sexual nature. Police believe it could have been a prank phone call, but advised the woman to contact her cell provider to stop accepting phone calls from blocked numbers.
At 6:51 p.m., a Woburn man reported someone fraudulently used his personal information to open an eBay account and purchase a $900 camera online. The man told police that an eBay representative was investigating the fraudulent account.
At 8:44 p.m., police were called to a Main Street building for a report of a fight between a man and a woman. According to police, while the couple was arguing, a bowl of chili fell and landed on both people and the car, but there was no physical contact. The man told police he would leave for the night. A third roommate told police he wanted the woman out of the apartment and began calling her and the cops names, said police. Officers helped the woman gather some belongings and leave the apartment for the night.
At 10:43 p.m., a Kilby Street woman reported her wallet missing. According to police, the woman said the wallet was not in her home or her car. Several hundred dollars in gift cards are missing, said police.
