The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

June 6 – At 10:37 a.m., a 71-year-old Reading man was involved in a one-car accident at Salem and Washington streets. According to police, the man suffered a “medical episode and passed out,” causing his vehicle to veer off the road, onto the shoulder, where it struck a curb, guardrail and several trees, before landing in a ditch. Three tow trucks were needed to extricate the vehicle, reported police. The man was taken to Winchester Hospital, along with one passenger. Police reported the car was totaled in the accident.

Other Incidents:

June 5 –

At 8:39 p.m., a Woburn woman walked into the police station lobby to report a verbal confrontation between her and her estranged boyfriend. According to police, the woman said she had been trying to break up with her boyfriend for two days and he was continually texting her and calling her. The woman said she agreed to meet with him in a Woburn parking lot on June 5, where they pair argued. Police advised the woman on how to obtain a restraining order at Woburn District Court.

June 6 –

At 4:24 p.m., police responded to Auto Zone on Main Street for a report of a previous assault and battery. According to police, the victim said he was punched from behind by an unknown assailant. A witness told police that a man dressed in dark clothing ran toward the victim, punched him in the face, and fled the area on a motorcycle. Police searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to find him. The victim declined medical treatment.

At 4:27 p.m., James Francis Lydston, 58, of 43 Merrimack Meadows Lane Apt. #43 in Tewksbury, was arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant from a June 5 incident. According to police, Lydston left the scene of an accident in Woburn, believing that he struck a “berm” and not a vehicle. Police attempted to contact Lydston after the accident, but the man reportedly hung up on the calling officer. Lydston was taken into custody in Woburn after returning the officer’s phone call.

At 10:18 p.m., Brittany Sue Munyon, 22, of 55 Middlesex Road in Stoneham, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A drug (Heroin), possession of a Class B drug (Cocaine), possession of a Class C drug (Clonazepam) and shoplifting $100+ by concealing merchandise. According to police, Munyon and a friend were seen entering the fitting room of Kohl’s with several pieces of merchandise. The women left the fitting rooms after concealing the merchandise and left the store. Munyon’s friend was pulled aside by Kohl’s Loss Prevention employees, who recovered the items. She will be summonsed to Woburn District Court for shoplifting, reported police. Munyon reportedly admitted to having drugs in her possession and was taken into custody, said police.

At 11:44 p.m., a Woburn woman reported receiving several harassing phone calls from a former boyfriend. Police spoke to the man, who called the woman while the officer was taking the report. Police advised the woman to seek a restraining order in court.
