The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.
Featured Call of the Day:
May 1 – At 8:45 a.m., police were dispatched to Lexington Street for a report of a two-car accident near the YMCA. According to police, one driver was stopped to take a turn into the Y, when the woman behind her “was unsure of the car’s actions” and braked suddenly. The woman told police the car got “squirrelly” at that point, striking the other car. Police said the collision occurred in the “breakdown” shoulder lane of Lexington Street while the woman was passing the stopped car on the right.

May 1 –
At 8:11 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Cambridge Road at Bedford Road and South Bedford Street. According to police, one car was attempting a left turn when it struck the other car, which was traveling straight on Cambridge Road. There were no reported injuries.
At 3:18 p.m., police responded to the Red Roof Inn for a report of an unwanted party. According to police, a man did not have enough money to pay for the room and management had asked him to leave. The man was taken to Anderson Regional Transportation Center so he could take a train. En route to the train, the man complained of chest pains and was transported to the hospital by Woburn Fire.
At 4:32 p.m., police were dispatched to a two-car accident on Webster Street. According to one driver, she was attempting a U-turn when she struck the other vehicle on Webster. The other driver said he tried to avoid the collision but couldn’t. There were no reported injuries.
At 7:03 p.m., police were called to a two-car accident at Garfield and Green streets. According to police, one driver was cited for failure to use care and caution when pulling onto Green Street.
At 7:53 p.m., police, fire and the Department of Public Works responded to a two-car accident at Mishawum Road and Commerce Way. According to police, two cars collided as one was turning left onto Commerce. People in both cars were treated by Woburn Fire and transported to Winchester Hospital. Due to fluid in the road, DPW put sand down in the area of the accident. Both cars were towed from the scene.
