July 23 – At  at 6:06 p.m., two drivers collided at Presidential Way and Atlantic Avenue – and both had a green light.  An Andover woman was turning left from Atlantic Avenue onto Presidential Way when a Woburn man heading straight on Atlantic Avenue hit her vehicle.  The officer who responded observed that drivers in “both directions do have green lights at the same time.” Both vehicles were towed. Both operators and a passenger in one car refused medical treatment. Neither driver was cited.

July 23 –

At 5:04 p.m., police arrested Marc J. Peterson, 35, of 12 Edith St., Everett, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of a Class B drug, suboxone.  An officer stopped the car driven by Peterson near Montvale Avenue and Green Street after he reportedly rolled through a stop sign. The officer found that Peterson’s license was suspended, according to the report.  He had operated with a suspended license in the past, the report states. When police arrested him, they reportedly found four suboxone pills.

At 5:42 p.m., police were dispatched, for the second time in a week, to a home east of Cambridge Street, between Lexington Street and Bedford Road, to investigate a report of youths possibly inside a vacant house. An officer observed the rear sliding glass door open and a “large hole in the ceiling of the back sun porch and trash, property and smashed glass strewn about the area,” so much debris that it was “difficult to move around.”  They found no youths.  The condition of the house “was not due to just youths entering and vandalizing it,” according to the report.  Police have identified the property owner and notified and fire department of the house’s condition in case firefighters have to respond to an emergency there. The condition of the house is “definitely a hazard to anyone who enters,” the report concludes, and “an eyesore in the neighborhood.”
