POLICE LOG: Unlicensed Driver Hits Cruiser

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.



The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Dec. 20 –

At 12:41 p.m., Deanna Sue Kelley, 20, of 76 Kilby St., was arrested and charged with assault and battery. According to police, officers responded to Kilby Street for a report of a victim slapped in the face by a known suspect, who then fled the area. Kelley was taken into custody on Cummings Avenue, where police found her walking after the alleged incident.

At 2:44 p.m., a Spring Court Extension woman reported her car vandalized several times over the past month. According to police, the woman said her car has been keyed and Coke was poured over it. On Dec. 20, she found an egg splattered on her hood and called Woburn Police.

At 3:55 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Cambridge Road. According to police, a car was pulling out of a parking lot and entering traffic, when the accident occurred. There were no reported injuries.

At 5:24 p.m., police were dispatched to a two-car accident on Commerce Way. According to police, one driver admitted to striking the other from behind because he did not realize the car had stopped in traffic. Both drivers refused further medical treatment.

At 6:05 p.m., police responded to Kimball Court for a reported domestic disturbance. According to police, a caller reported a woman was not being allowed to leave the apartment. When police arrived, they spoke to both residents, who reported there was an argument, but it was verbal only and everything was fine. Police said the apartment appeared orderly and there were no signs of a struggle.

At 6:15 p.m., a 42-year-old Woburn woman was summonsed to court after she crashed into a WPD cruiser responding to an emergency. According to police, the woman was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop/yield for a stop sign and obstruction of an emergency vehicle. Police said an officer was responding to Kimball Court with his siren and emergency lights activated, when a car rolled through a stop sign and hit the rear passenger side door of the cruiser.

At 7:48 p.m., police were called to Walgreens on Main Street for a report of an argument in the parking lot. According to police, two women were arguing over an eight-year-old loan. Neither woman wanted to press the issue further, said police.
