Stop & Shop Takes Calico Bean Salad off Shelf

The manufacturer has recalled the product because of possible listeria contamination.

Stop & Shop has stopped selling its Calico Bean Salad after a voluntary recall by its manufacturer because of possible listeria contamination. The product is normally sold at the salad bar.

Costa Fruit & Produce said it was recalling the product because of the possible health risks, although no illnesses have been reported.

Stop & Shop, which has a location on Elm Street at the Route 128/38 rotary, has removed the Calico Bean Salad from its stores and said customers who purchased the product between July 18 and 26 should discard any unused portions and bring their receipt to the store for a full refund.
