UPDATE: Victim in Accidental Shooting Had Minor Injuries

Woburn Police and Fire responded to an accidental shooting in a car Saturday afternoon.

A 38-year-old Hanson man was injured Saturday when he , according to Woburn Police.

At 1:46 p.m. June 18, police and fire personnel were dispatched to Marion Street for a report of an accidental shooting and injury.

Woburn Police Officer William Murphy said the 38-year-old victim was “clearing his firearm while seated in his vehicle and he accidentally shot himself in the right foot.”

According to police, the bullet entered the man’s big toe and exited the same toe.

The man was taken to Lahey Clinic for his injury.

Police said the man is licensed to carry a firearm and was working a personal security detail in the Marion Street area when the incident occurred.
