West Side Road Work Begins

Work will affect school traffic.

The West Side will see some road construction this week, as the city begins work on Willow and Locust streets.

According to the Woburn Police, the Department of Public Works will begin grinding Willow Street from Bedford Road to Burlington Street Tuesday morning. After the Joyce Middle School is in session, work is expected to move over to Locust Street.

There will be access to the Joyce in both directions, said police.

At afternoon dismissal of the middle school, traffic will only be able to go out to Willow Street. Drivers will not be allowed to go from Locust Street to Cambridge Road, said police.

After the grinding work is complete, more construction and paving will follow.

Police believe the project will take about two weeks.
