Each week, Woburn Patch will highlight editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more in our Thursday feature called Patch Picks.
We've looked at great places to watch sporting events, romantic restaurants and non-profits. This week, we want to know from you—our librarians and other enthusiastic readers—What are five great reads for adults and five great reads for children in celebration of National Read Across America Day (March 3).
Tell us which books you just couldn't put down, or which books your kids begged you to read to them over and over. Librarians, let us know what books keep flying off the shelves at the Woburn Public Library.

Right now I'm reading Room by Emma Donoghue, which has been in the top 5 of that list for quite awhile now. Two other books that I've read recently and couldn't put down were The Girl Who Fell From the Sky by Heidi Durrow and Divergent by Veronica Roth (will be on shelves in May). I also *loved* Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void by Mary Roach - it's a fun, interesting look at space travel and exploration.
The Teen Book Club at the WPL (grades 6-12) is going to be discussing The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner at tonight's meeting. Next they'll be reading The Agency: A Spy in the House by Y.S. Lee.
Last, but not least, the two picture books that my daughter has been requesting are Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas and Dogs by Emily Gravett.

I just recently finished Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. It's a story about an AMAZING cat with no eyes. You laugh, cry and feel like an idiot for having fears in life. (-:

My kids are adults now. We always read to them, and now they are recommending wonderful books to us! It has been a rich experience and continues.

A top 5? That's a tough one since I read a book every few days. Maybe that's why we own a bookstore! As Woburnites, we were so sad when the Bookshelf closed on Main St. several years ago.
