What Would You Like to Ask State Rep. Jim Dwyer?

Reading, Woburn and Stoneham Patch take your questions to your officials.

In our ongoing mission to bring our readers solid local coverage, Woburn Patch, in cooperation with Reading Patch and Stoneham Patch, will take your questions this week to State Rep. Jim Dwyer.

From your questions, the Reading, Woburn and Stoneham editors will select five to send to Dwyer, who has agreed to take the time to answer them in writing.

We will accept your questions through 5 p.m. Wednesday. If all goes well, we expect to publish Dwyer's responses on Monday.

Post your questions in the comment section below, or email them to mattc@patch.com.

Do you understand the requirements of the Woburn Public Library's application for an MBLC grant and can you explain the need for a signature to the current mayor and city council in Woburn?
Thank you!

As a "law maker" ; What bills, if any, have you created to curtail/stop unfunded mandates? Currently our city must provide and fund English as a second language yet we must cut "Foreign language" to our TAX paying English speaking students to do so?

For every dollar the State takes from the Cities and Towns you represent they will be getting a fraction in return. As a "law maker"; What have you done or will do to minimize State government and allow for communities to keep more of what they are forced to pay out?

I noticed in your list of legislation that you are supporting a number of pro-2nd amendment bill and want to thank you for that. Can you do more to help others realize the 2nd amendment exists in this state and that the states current laws are extremely unconstitutional ?

Secure Communities Program aims to identify deport-able criminal aliens when they are arrested.
If the arrested individual is determined to be a removable non-citizen then ICE can proceed with the deportation process.
This enables law enforcement agencies to identify the non-citizen with criminal convictions and proceed to deport them back to their country.
The Governor of Massachusetts has said that he will not sign the Secure Communities Program.
What is your stand on this issue?
