Woburn Business Ordered to Stop Making Viagra

State issued cease and desist on compounding pharmacy in Woburn.

State officials have issued a partial cease and desist order for a Woburn compounding center in the wake of a surprise inspection, according to the Boston Globe.

Pallimed Solutions Pharmacy was issued the partial order after inspectors found sildenafil citrate, which is known by the brand name Viagra, being made with “improper components,” according to the newspaper. The company said it is fully cooperating with the state and that Pallimed never received any complaints about the drug from users.

The company is awaiting a follow-up hearing date with the state Department of Public Health, according to the Globe.
