A 31-year-old father of two has succumbed to injuries he suffered after being struck by a car Oct. 9.
Allen Fisher, of Arlington Road, was crossing Washington Street near Leland Park after leaving a Pop Warner practice last Tuesday when he was struck by an oncoming car.
According to Woburn Police's documentation of the accident, Fisher, who was in the crosswalk, was struck by the car, then thrown several feet down the street into the opposite lane of traffic. He was taken to Mass General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. After undergoing surgery, MGH reported that Fisher was in "serious" condition Friday afternoon.
The 88-year-old driver from Winchester has not yet been charged in the case, but Woburn Police said Friday the investigation is ongoing. The Winchester man's car was taken to the WPD station on Harrison Avenue for further inspection and police requested the man lose his license immediately.

A fundraiser has been set up for Mr. Fisher's family—a wife, son and daugher—to alleviate the burden of funeral costs and more.
According to the event's promotion, friends of the Fisher family would like to "celebrate Allen's life while helping support his family through this time of need."
