Members of the Woburn Police Department will be taking advantage of the school department's winter break to get in some emergency response training today.

According to an article the Daily Times Chronicle, Chief Robert Ferulla said members of the department will be conducting emergency response training at the Goodyear Elementary School and the Kennedy Middle School, starting at 7:30 a.m. this morning. The training is expected to end around 4 p.m.

According to the story some of the training activity may be conducted outside of the school buildings and in parts of the neighborhood. Residents who see the police presence at the schools today should be aware that this is only training and not be alarmed.

The training is in conjunction with the multi-community School Threat Assessment and Response Systems (Stars) program. The program involves police department personnel from Stoneham, Waltham, Bedford and Burlington along with Woburn.
