Veterans Day is this Sunday, Nov. 11, and will be observed Monday. In light of that, we recently received the following question:
What is the schedule of events for Veterans Day?
We talked to the city's Department of Veterans Services and got the answer for you!
- 11/5 through 11/9—Veterans speaking at all Woburn Public Schools
- 11/8—12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Senior Center Veteran’s Services
- 11/11—10:30 a.m., Veteran’s Day Parade starts at Main St. at the Woburn/Winchester Line
- 11/11—11 a.m., Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Woburn Common
- 11/11—Dedication of the New War Memorial (immediately following the Veteran’s Day ceremony)
- 11/11—Free cookout (weather permitting) following the Dedication of the New War Memorial, in honor of all of our veterans and their families (Sponsored by all of the city's service clubs in the city)
- 11/11—Special Veterans Farino Photo Discussion at Woburn Public Library
- 11/15—9 a.m., Veteran’s Service at New Horizons

I cannot wait to see the new memorial. It will be a great tribute to all of the Woburn people who served and sacrificed to keep us all free.
