Woburn Teen Dies, Another in Serious Condition After Accident

Police said one victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene in Malden last night.

A Woburn teen has been killed and another is in serious condition after a fiery crash in Malden Monday night.

Malden Police Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said one of two victims was killed instantly during the single-car crash on Medford St. last night, while another transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

WBZ News reports that the deceased victim was a 17-year-old from Woburn. The second victim was also reportedly from Woburn. According to reports, the second victim received serious burns after the crash.

"Upon arrival officers located a single-car accident with the vehicle fully engulfed in flames," Gatcomb wrote in an email. "Attempts to rescue a victim in the vehicle were unsuccessful.

She is one of my beautiful granddaughters. I LOVE HER SO VERY MUCH!! I pray for her mother and each of her brothers and sisters that God will comfort them in this great tradgedy. She was a beautiful, loving and caring person who will greatly be missed by me and each of our family. We now place her in the arms of our All Knowing Loving God!
Someday, honey, I'll see you on the other side. 'Till then!
I thank you for the beautiful rosary bracelet you brought me when you came to your sisters' wedding here in Ca. I will continue to wear it each day and pray my rosary for you and each of our beautiful family. Love you forever, Grandma xo

Such a beautiful tribute from a grandmother to her grand daughter. This family is in my thoughts and prayers as they struggle to deal with this horrific loss. Hopefully the other teen receives good, nurturing care and is able to make a full recovery. Thank the homeowners who responded so quickly to comfort and care for this teen until trained responders arrive. God Bless you all

Denise - I am praying for you and the family and friends who loved Becca so much. I remember her from Everett and my favorite image of her is when I gave her 2 kittens (she said she wanted 2 because 1 would be too lonely!). God bless and keep you.
