Woburn Theater Prepared for Dark Knight Rises

Showcase Cinemas talks security to ease fears after "The Dark Knight Rises" shooting in Colorado.

Showcase Cinemas will be prepared tonight for The Dark Knight Rises, following an overnight shooting at a Colorado showing of the Batman film, in which 12 were killed and at least 50 injured.

National Amusements, Inc. spokeswoman Rachel Lulay issued the following statement Friday morning:

"The safety of our patrons and staff is of the utmost importance to us.  For that reason, we do not discuss the internal security measures we have in place, but are reviewing those measures with our theatre personnel."

In addition to theater employees, Showcase also hires a Woburn Police detail for the cinema.

According to the Associated Press, a gunman threw tear gas into a midnight showing of the new film "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado, before opening fire on the crowd.
